MGS4 DVD and Dualshock 3

Today was a splendid day for me as I got word from a friend that the MGS4 dvd finally arrived at our local gamestops. I had heard from some other sources that the dvds were slowly arriving around the United States so it would only be a matter of time before it reached here on Puerto Rico. The dvd brings several videos about the background of each snake and how they developed along the series. It has been 20 years and it finally comes to an end forever. The videos weren’t the only thing it brought. Within the case also came a code to participate on the MGO beta which will begin gameplay at April 21. The download will be available since April 17 but the servers won’t go live til 21.

A metal gear online has recently gone online which explains various concepts on the game that were before unknown or unheard. The website is http://www.konami.jp/mgo/us/what.html . One of the nice features that will be feature on this game is the SOP system which allows you to tap into the nanomachines of your team and see what they see. If a team member sees where a enemy is hiding you will see him across the wall as transparent. It is a nice feature that sets metal gear into its own genre and uses the just established SOP on the storyline as a nice gameplay mechanic. Another feature I am glad for is the character customization. You can virtually customize your character from head to bottom. Probably new clothing will be available in future packs. It is mentioned that Old Snake appears and that even Metal Gear MK II was spotted on the battlefield. Let your speculation run wild as to what purpose important characters will have.

PS3 Dualshock 3

Metal Gear Solid 4 wasn’t the only excitement of today. Starting from today all gamestops over here started selling the long awaited dual shock 3. After caring it with my hands I can say it indeed is the comfortable controller we have come to know it as well. The slight weight added makes the controller feel more alive and nice rather than the cheap plastic like feeling of the sixaxis. The dualshock 3 is one comfortable controller. Although it finally has rumble not all games support it. Call of Duty 4 is one of those games yet to add rumble support. Specific games have gotten the rumble patches already or came prepared since release with it. The last-gen rumble will return and remind us how important can rumble be for us.
